Where to begin? Well as you saw about an hour ago, I opened The Diana Show with the lead single from the album. It's called A Little Tongue, and is now available on iTunes and Rhapsody, and is being rush-released to all radio outlets as we speak. The physical CD single and vinyl will hit shelves next Tuesday as well. It's one of the perfect definitions of the album. Funky. Loose. Vibrant. Fun. Different. Just to call out a few adjectives. To emphasize on the sudden release of the single, I did two commercials -- one for iTunes and one for Rhapsody, both of which are now in full circulation on most television channels. Be sure to catch them. I had a lot of fun making them with director Joel Schumacher. He is incredibly brilliant, and it shows. And if you haven't caught it by now, the album is entitled Hollywood. It's very different from my previous works. My last three albums were very musically thematic -- tight-knit sounds that unified to create one specific feeling. But with Hollywood, the theme lies in the lyrics. The album titles, which you can find below, depict the Hollywood life. The lyrics, when read with keen eyes, give a vivid and striking exploitation of Hollywood and the things I have seen and experienced. Don't take them at face value -- love songs or hate songs they may seem, but there is much to read between the lines. But the music itself is very loose. I went for more of a Funk vibe to add some fun and twists. The Funk has an electronic touch, which makes it very unique. It ranges from extremely busy drums and synths to digital guitars and stretched-out drum sounds. I tried to incoporate a lot of different instruments that are out of the normal, and I think they came off quite well. That about sums up the album. It will be released on November 4th, so mark your calendars. It's going to be a busy, but fun ride.

I'll be doing two major things to accompany the release of the album. The first is my own reality show, aptly titled Miss Jones. It will start tomorrow at 8:00 PM EST on NBC, an hour earlier than usual, because two episodes will air tomorrow. The first will chronicle the last eight years of my life, and the second will be the first of many to document the Hollywood journey. It's interesting, to say the least. There's a lot of Diana on there, and when we get together, it's comedy and drama galore, so expect entertainment. The second is, oddly enough, a coffee-table book. I worked with a very special photographer named David LaChapelle. After he and I brainstormed an idea and look, he shot very beautiful photos. And to correlate with the album's theme, I decided to release a photographic album. There are about thirty pages, about twenty-two of which contain pictures. The pictures and a few of the other pages contain text that describes some Hollywood traumas, and the ultimate desire to be there. It's very intimate and a very unique project for me. I'm very excited. We plan on releasing the book on October 14th.
*Breathes* Well, that's about it. I will keep this constantly updated -- I don't want to be one of those artists that leave their fans behind. I want to stay in contact with you all. The posts after this one won't be as formal and stuck-up, LOL. I just wanted to put the details out without side-tracking. So I'll leave you with this week's promotion schedule, and a farewell.
